Karla Ruiz is pursuing a career that involves the integration of web design, internet programming and internet applications development. Ruiz is currently a senior at the University of La Verne studying in Communications with a concentration in multimedia design and Computer Science/Engineering with a concentration in internet programming. She aspires to be a User Experience/Interface Designer and Researcher for mobile applications, web design and development. 

Ruiz is also bilingual in Spanish and English. Her ability to write and read in Spanish enables her to implement or translate her design in either languages. Ruiz excels in learning new things and experimenting with new ways to improve her design skills and computer languages. Some computer languages that Ruiz is proficient in is HTML4 and HTML5, CSS and CSS3, JavaScript, C#, C++, and basic knowledge of PHP. Ruiz is proficient with the Adobe creative suite for CS6 and CC, the programs that she uses often are Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator. She goes out of her way to make sure her work is up to her standards and the client’s standard. Ruiz has a genuine passion for web design and development because it is a field that requires constant learning and adapting to new techniques.

Ruiz aspires to one day work for Google, Apple, or Facebook as User Experience/Interface designer. She plans to execute the skills that she acquired from her coursework, independent study and the experience of using software applications that are commonly associated with Adobe creative suite and Microsoft Visual Studio to implement innovative digital design and web development.
